Highway rest stop scavenging
Had to travel to Kansas over the weekend and stopped at the Texas/Oklahoma rest station.
While in the bathroom there was a shelf labeled "free reading material"
Never thought to check these out before and found some insanely useful stuff.
A small book on plant life in the state, including growing seasons and locations
A book on local wildlife with locations of what's where
And full state map.
The rest was mostly state history and tourist attractions,
But the map and the books on wildlife/plantlife would be invaluable when trying to navigate towards resources and what's available in the area.
