I have the Forerunner 970, had it for a few months now and love it. I’m getting more in to distance running so I’m wanting to get the most out of the stats I can get and I’m looking at the HRM 600.

Can I control the activity through the watch but get the stats from the HRM? As in can I stop/start the activity from the watch but the HRM is on and recording the stats? Or can I only start the activity through the app with the HRM 600 and the watch doesn’t matter?

Please help as I’m new to Garmin (this was my first one) so I don’t know how well their devices work together.”
