I'm having problems with my almost two decades old Line6 UX2. I'm a guitar player and just started playing again. Thought I'm getting back into it again before I buy better equipment.

My main problem is latency. I'm on fedora kde plasma (Ryzen 7 7800 X3D, MSI Mag Tomahawk B850, 32 GB Crucial CL36) using reaper, and everythings working fine so far. It's just that there seems to be an issue in the kernel driver. And there lot's of unintended behaviour ... sometimes the interface doesn't even connect properly, sometimes everything is working just right. Currently I'm on 44000/512 in reaper, and that causes a slightly disturbing delay. I am using PipeWire + WirePlumber + JACK setting in reaper. When I try using lower sample rates, clicking and sound artifacts appear.

I read in another sub that the driver seems to be really old and there seem to be lot's of problems with it. The UX2 supports 44 and 48 kHz natively, but the linux driver only operates the device reliably at 44 kHz and 16-bit. Anyone found a way to properly set up the UX2 using linux? I might just buy a focusrite scarlett or a different interface soon if I can't find a solution.

Btw: I tried different USB ports, different cables, 48 and 44 khz and different sample rates. No luck so far.

Moin, vielleicht auch keine blöde Frage, bin mir nicht sicher.

Ich bin Anfang 30. Ich erinnere mich daran, dass noch bis vor ein paar Jahren einige Dinge stärker diskutiert wurden und heute irgendwie vollkommen verschwunden sind, obwohl sie nicht weniger wichtig geworden sind. Beispiele:

Was ist eigentlich mit Bildungsreformen? Ich erinnere mich noch an Sendungen bei Lanz und öffentliche Debatten, ob der Schulstart wirklich immer um 8 sein sollte und dass unser Schulsystem generell Mist ist (Belohnung von Leistung statt Entwicklung usw.).

Was ist mit Dingen wie Müll- und Plastikvermeidung? Ich weiß noch genau, wie das voll Thema war … die Meere werden mit Müll vollgekippt, Umweltverschmutzung in deutschen Gewässern, Ideen für Kreislaufwirtschaft usw.

Kinderarmut. Das Thema wird mittlerweile ja nicht weniger relevant sein.

Ist meine Wahrnehmung da einfach nur sehr selektiv? Ich lese Nachrichten und bin eigentlich immer gut informiert, aber ich lese gefühlt seit Jahren nur noch die Themen Migration, Migration, Energie, Migration, Wehrdienst, Arbeitsmarkt und Migration. Und Migration. Ist es so, dass die aktuelle Regierungspolitik wirklich nur diese Themen im Blick hat oder passiert an den historischen Fronten auch noch irgendwas? Vielleicht seid ihr da besser informiert (z. B. qua Beruf).
