I passed CS 182 with a C last semester and had to retake CS 240 this semester. Given I pass 240 this semester, the default plan is to go into CS 250/251. However, I heard from a few people taking the course that it's pretty much CS 182 mk.II (ie. an extension and application of concepts from discrete math)

Given that I didn't do too well in CS 182, how can I prepare for CS 250/251? Do I need to retake CS 182 for a better understanding (and grade)?

I faintly remember a story from Elaina: The Wandering Witch in either manga or light novel form where Elaina and Fran are enjoying butterfly watching together on a pleasant summer's day. A man comes up asking for money that he promises he'll pay back. Elaina wanted to send him away, but Fran simply gave him the money. When Elaina asks Fran why (when it's probably a scam), she replies that she would rather spend the pleasant summer's day watching butterflies with Elaina than argue with a stranger over money.

Is this story actually from Elaina? If so, does anyone know the chapter?
