Best life jackets to keep head above water if someone goes unconscious?
I'm looking for the best life jackets for epileptics. That keep the head above water when unconscious.
Not seeking medical advice. Personal opinions.
My dad is getting back into fishing and is an epileptic. It's a rare occurrence, he drives and operates machinery, but it's enough to concern us.
I saw some videos of people testing jumping in the water face forward and learned very quickly that a lot of life jackets don't help keep people's heads above water. And some actually put their face in the water. Someone in a seizure breathing heavy, they're done for... I was shocked to learn how bad some life jackets are. To think we used to blindly buy them trusting the boating and fishing stores gives me chills.
I saw a video from this guy and his life jacket kept his head above water and just about sold me.

I wonder if we should get whatever one he has?
There's an old post on Facebook that reccomended a different jacket (NRS Chinook PFD) to keep the head above water, so I was hoping someone might be able to provide feedback if that one works or if some of the inflatables are better?
I saw a video of a guy that tested the Chinook wearing a body cam and showed it wouldn't let him flip over when he was in the water. But I don't know if it keeps the head above water and what would happen diving face forward.
My dad currently owns the bass pro shop A/M-24. I saw a video of one side failing to inflate. Deeply concerning. https://youtu.be/c0QakF2SbJU?si=4JdgNrTeJZQmwz5-
I don't know much about how well it keeps someone's head above water vs other automatics and the one the guy had in the first video. I don't trust it yet. But anything is better than nothing for now. I'm telling my dad I'll help pay for something more expensive if there's something better.
Something comfortable so he doesn't take it off.
Anyway;
Does anyone have any recommendations of a life jacket that keeps the head above water so we can sleep at night knowing one will actually increase the odds of working when he goes out?
I'm also a little bit worried about making sure cartridges are always working. It looks like they only need to be checked once a year and last years. Has that been your experience?
