How are small businesses actually managing invoices in 2026?
I’ve been talking to a few freelancers and small business owners recently and honestly didn’t realize how chaotic invoice management still is for a lot of people.
Everyone seems to have a different system:
- PDFs buried in email
- spreadsheets
- Google Drive folders
- reminders in calendar apps
- “I’ll remember to pay it later”
And once invoices start piling up, things get messy fast.
Some people told me they’ve missed payments simply because an invoice got lost somewhere in Gmail.
Made me curious:
What’s everyone here actually using to manage invoices, due dates, and recurring bills?
Do you already have a system that works well, or is it still mostly manual?
