Should I worry about this?
Actually, things already happened after this showed up.
I don’t know how I got this earlier in the morning, but after waking up, attacks started happening on my Google account. Mind you, Windows Antivirus had already taken care of it before this.
I managed to recover some of my accounts and information, but I still don’t know what else the attacker may have done since some emails were deleted. Apparently, the attacker came from Paraguay, or at least claimed to be, because I caught a glimpse of an email saying my RIOT account email was being changed.
Here’s what I currently know the hacker did:
- Hacked my Google account and changed the emails of some of my accounts (like my Riot). I still don’t know what other changes were made.
- Hacked my Discord account and sent scam links to other people.
Right now, I’m still checking what else the attacker may have accessed or changed.
The thing is, I still got hacked even though the threat was supposedly deleted already. Honestly, this was the last thing I saw before everything happened, so I strongly suspect this was what compromised my system.
At this point, I’m wondering if I should still be worried even after Windows Antivirus said it already handled the threat. Since I still got compromised afterward, I’m concerned there might still be something left on my PC, like a session/token stealer, backdoor, or another form of malware that wasn’t fully removed.
If anyone has experience with this kind of situation, I’d really appreciate advice on what precautions I should take next, what other accounts I should prioritize checking, and whether I should consider reinstalling Windows or doing additional scans/tools to make sure my system is actually safe.
