My powerswitch broke on my 74 twinreverb. I have never been the fixer upper guy. But i started to think about what else i could change on my amp. My amp becomes really “Farty” at high volumes when i play the low e-string. So i thought about changing the speakers. I have two old PA speakers with 12inch cerwin vega speakers and i am thinking about changing the speakers. I’ve seen online that people prefer changing the speakers on the 70’s silver face twins for old JBL speakers or celestions. Does anyone have any experience with cerwin vega in guitar amps? Is it a good idea to at least try to change the speakers?
