How to sound proof a space

I have built a pvc blanket booth and that has REALLY helped with dampening. But I’m trying to creatively come up with ways to proof the space more.

Foam on the pvc rods?
Maybe just sound proofing foam on the walls in the room it’s in?

What are some other creative tips?

Welp my agent quit

Ive only been with him for less than a year but he abruptly quit the agency last week.

Honestly I was looking to switch agencies bc this has not been a great fit in the sense that they don’t actually care about me (not honoring book out dates(and chewing me out when I wanted to honor them), no audition declines even if I didn’t feel comfortable/safe, condescending convos, diff styles of communication etc.

The agency is offering for me to stay but honestly there is a high chance I could run into those things again moving forward.

The bummer is that I really wanted to get a booking before leaving and Ive been so close (a strong handful of pins and avail checks!!) but I also need to protect my peace. Ughhh. Anyone had their agent quit before and left at a crossroads like this? I need to hear a happy ending haha

Forcing a choice between theatre and film

Has anyone had an experience where an agent doesn’t let you or heavily discourages auditioning for theatre?

I get the commission and conflict of it all, but one time he said if I ended up booking a 2-3 month contract that he’d want to negotiate the rate for me and take commission and told me it would be a real inconvenience if I booked it. He isn’t repping me for theatre, but I am repped across the board (film, commercial, print).

He highly discouraged me from doing theatre even though in our initial conversation, I made it clear that I occasionally still participate in professional theatre.

I know that its their livelihood too, so I do get it, but also to police my career and tell me I have to give him a cut from a theatre self submission kinda through me! I imagine I’m not the first to have this experience with an agent though so how did you navigate it?

Edit- I think I would want to give him a cut anyways if I booked it bc he does work hard for me but that should be my choice!

AA Upload Cost

Got headshots that I loved recently and my agent loved them too!! So much so that they want me to upload almost 20 to AA. Do you think it was okay that I asked them if I could upload half now and half in two weeks due to the $10 per photo charge?

They responded reminding me of the two free photos I would have if I delete all my old photos, but I feel weird trying to explain being paycheck to paycheck and recovering after paying for expensive headshots😅 $160 may not be a lot for some people but its a lot for me rn after just paying for my monthly classes and headshots and student loans

How do you find mentors

All of my actor friends are in the thick of it with me and would love to come to someone for advice and encouragement and friendship thats on the other side. So many things are new to me and it feels like I’m going in blind. For those of you that have a mentor or mentee or maybe just a friend who is further in the industry than you, how did you meet them or have this kind of relationship?

Edit: this is not an open invitation. Just curious if you met people through classes or other projects or networking. Not looking to connect with strangers on reddit.
