Diference between Sun and Mars

Hello friends who study Vedic astrology, I wanted to understand the difference between the Sun and Mars. From what I've seen on Vedic astrology websites, both govern physical strength and vital energy. Some say they govern the same thing, but Mars governs speed. Some say Mars is present in all action, others say it's the Sun. What is it, after all?
