‘Jersey Contingent’ - 7th Bn, Royal Irish Rifles - The Somme

Impression of a Riflemen apart of the 7th (Jersey contingent) Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles, 48th Brigade, 16th (Irish) Division.

The Jersey contingent fought mainly during the Somme at the battles of Guillemont and Ginchy in September of 1916. During which, reduced the Battalion of 300 men, all made up of all volunteers from the Island, to merely a few handful left.

(This is my first time wearing this uniform as I’m mainly focused on the Second World War so go easy on me if I’ve made any mistakes aha - I’m still missing my shoulder titles but will be obtaining some over the weekend.)
