I recently bought an AMD RX 9060 XT 16GB, upgrading from an RTX 3050 6GB. I was expecting a huge performance boost, but in newer games like Helldivers 2, Atomic Heart, and Neverness to Everness, I’m only seeing 30-40 FPS even on the lowest settings. Even when it hits 60 FPS, the game feels choppy and unenjoyable.
I haven’t upgraded my CPU since I first built my PC in 2022, so I suspect a bottleneck.
My Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4500 (6-core)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT (16GB)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Motherboard: MSI A320M PRO-VH
- Storage: 2TB HDD (Planning to upgrade to an SSD soon)
- PSU: Platinum Tier (Unknown model, but replaced in the last 2 years)
Is the CPU definitely the culprit? Is there anything I can do to lighten the load while I save up for a new one, and what CPU should I look for that fits this motherboard?
