So I am a novice who likes to call myself a writer. My main issue is me deciding on what POV or perspective I want to write in. It's like I know what I want to write down but I have no idea if it should be in a First Person Perspective; Me, I, Mine. Or 3rd Person Perspective; This character, name, etc.
To preface the story I'm writing is sort of a hybrid of a retelling from the storytellers perspective and more of how the events happened outside that characters POV. In the prologue it's me telling an except of events that are going to happen later on essentially then it goes into the typical, You might be wondering how I got here. In where it then goes into that specific person's accounts of their own history. But my main issue is I don't think the First person POV works when I want to explore things outside that characters view, events and things that happen to other characters and such it often feels clunky to me shifting from 1st person, I, me, my to 3rd this, that, etc.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, and I'm willing to explain more what I mean if need be.
