PSA: Why your ATK/Crit buffs are USELESS in Pink Paw Heist

TL;DR

In Pink Paw Heist, The damage system is completely different from the rest of the game. It’s not about how high your stats are—it's all about Skill Multipliers.

===

  • Enemies HP is not a fixed numerical value; it seems to be based on skill multipliers.
    • For example, the two Rainmen in the lobby appear to have 1000% HP, meaning they die after taking damage equal to a total of 1000% worth of character skill multipliers.
  • Because enemies HP is multiplier-based, damage also seems to depend only on skill multipliers.
    • Chiz’s fixed skill damage has no multiplier, so it does not affect the HP bar. This makes her feel extremely weak, since her skill itself only has a multiplier of a few dozen percent.
  • Although Esper reactions are shown as fixed damage in-game, they still deal damage normally.
    • For example, Blossom seems to deal 65% per hit, while Scorch deals 10% per DoT tick. These values were tested on the lobby Rainman by comparing skill multipliers and estimating HP bar loss through pixel counting from recorded screenshots, so they may not be exact.
  • Character skill multipliers do not seem to be related to level.
    • They appear to stay at Lv. 1 values even with the Awakening 3 passive skill level +1.
  • There seems to be a conversion ratio between HP/DEF multipliers and ATK multipliers.
    • For example, DEF appears to use a 4/3 ratio, based on testing with Adler.
  • ATK buffs, damage bonuses, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG granted by skills or Awakenings seem to be useless.
    • This includes the various ATK buffs, damage bonuses, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG effects in Mint’s Awakening.
    • Sakiri’s ultimate ATK buff and Haniel’s skill ATK buff also appear to be ineffective. Although the displayed damage numbers increase when buffs are applied, the actual multiplier does not change.
  • On the other hand, anything that directly changes the multiplier does work.
    • For example, Aurelia’s combat skill multiplies the jellyfish projectile multiplier by 1.7, and the MC’s 6th Awakening increases damage multiplier to 300%.
  • The Stain reaction works properly and gives a 20% damage increase.
  • Damage from Arc skills is effective.
  • In a previous test, Lacrimosa’s DoT damage was always calculated using the 1-stack multiplier, no matter how many stacks were applied.
    • I haven’t retested this yet, so I don’t know whether it has already been fixed.

Edit: add examples

- Even if you have 5000 ATK on a level 80 character with full Awakenings, if her normal attack multiplier is only 100%, you still need 10 normal attacks to kill the lobby Rainman. Stats basically don't matter — only multipliers do.

- Even if you're Hunter Level 50 using a level 80 character, you're basically dealing similar damage to a newbie using a level 1 character.

- The big numbers you see on screen don't matter at all. For example, even if Hotori's ult shows 99999 on the last hit, her actual damage is only around 600% (her level 1 ult ratio + her Talent 2, which increases ult ratio by 100%). So she basically deals the same damage as a level 1 Hathor ult (~600% ratio) — even if Hathor's ult only shows "300" on screen.
