AJA KiPro 12G Ultra video glitching issue

AJA KiPro 12G Ultra video glitching issue

Been trying to troubleshoot this over the past few days. Recorded an event last week and have found that the left portion of the video frame is blurred/distorted. In the image below I was running just a video test (I cannot show the original recordings from the event) but it appears just the same.

Setup:
I have four AJA KiPro 12G Ultras in a rack. They're all running firmware version 2.8.0.24.
Connections are via HDMI.
Video Switcher is an Analog Way Aquilon C+ running firmware 6.0.6.

Issue happens whether I'm running an input source into the Aquilon, OR with the test patterns generated within the switcher itself.

This only seems to happen when trying to record 2160/60p, however it seems to be with very specific settings.

I have tested the HDMI cables using the Murideo Fox & Hound 8K testers. Our cables are HDMI 2.1 spec and pass all tests up to 48gbps. I have tried multiple cables and pulled cables from other racks that have been running 2160/60p with no issues.

This issue also appears on all four of the KiPros.

I have swapped out the Aquilon HDMI output cards with two other units: One from another known working unit, and one spare HDMI output card that has been in storage. All three units show the same issues.

I have also swapped to a different output module entirely, moving from Slot 1 to Slot 3. I also placed an SDI output card into Slot 1. The SDI outputs work perfectly fine in 2160/60p.

That said, all four KiPros work fine with SDI at 4K.

We typically use HDMI due to the limitations of our Aquilon. We only have three output slots; Two are the 4x 12G SDI slots, and one is the 4K HDMI. We generally need the SDIs to patch through our venue, so we use the HDMI for recordings.

This issue is NOT present when running in 1080p in any setting.

---------

I have found that changing the Pixel Encoding settings on the output seem to alleviate the problem. It works perfectly fine on the following settings:
RGB Full / 24 bits (8bpc)
RBG Limited / 24 bits (8bpc)
YCbCr 4:2:2 / 36 bits (12bpc)

However, setting to the following reproduces the issue:
Auto
YCbCr 4:2:0 / 24 bits (8bpc)
YCbCr 4:2:0 / 30 bits (10bpc)
YCbCr 4:4:4 / 24 bits (8bpc) (Does not produce the exact same issue, but produces a complete mess of color mismatch)

I've tested the ouput to a 12G Blackmagic Video Assist via HDMI and was not able to reproduce the issue; All settings worked perfectly fine.

I also tested into a Lilliput 12G SDI / 4K HDMI field monitor with the same results: No issues at all.

I'm ok with working with this 4:2:2 override, but am genuinely curious what is causing this issue, or if anyone else has experienced it, and why there's the issue with these recorders but seemingly nothing else? I'm aware the KiPros are only designed for HDMI 2.0 on the inputs, but the spec indicates it should handle up to RBG 4:4:4 8/10/12 bit, YCbCr 4:2:2 8/10/12 bit, and YCbCr 4:2:0 8 bit.... but none of the 4:2:0 settings work in this situation (I can understand the 4:4:4 not working with YCbCr as it's not listed as supported).
