Non hybrid owners, with no extended transmission warranty, this is for you.
What is your line of thinking with the possible transmission problem?
Are you just continuing to do maintenance and hopping it doesnt happen to you? Because thats what Im doing so far, and considering not reading this forum anymore to avoid further what-if anxiety!I love my gas car and thought it would last 200k miles before joining this forum.
I had the option to switch to a hybrid model for an additional $10k on top of my tradein, but then i thought, why am I prepaying $10k for a possible transimission break that might not even happen..
Edit: Obviously (from the comments below) the issue is real and impacting many people who thought this would never happen to toyotas, but nobody really knows the impacted numbers, so we cant really make fully educated decisions.
