Just had my first experience with Virpil support, and it is easily the best ive ever had. The zoom slider on my CM3 Throttle lost its center detent and got mushy to use, was gonna get a new one but figured lets try Virpil and see, cause ive read alot of great things. The engineer told me the slider itself is soldered to the board, and at that point i thought im screwed. Nope, he asked for a couple pictures with instructions on how exactly to take apart the grip. And now they are going make 2 new boards from scratch and send them to me. I had to pay sadly, hence why i ordered 2, overseas shipping was expensive. But honestly that doesnt matter, the fact that they are so helpful, give instructions with pictures, and are willing to just make parts for their older gear is outstanding. Truly cannot recommend Virpil enough if anyones in the market for quality sim gear.
Im eyeballing a Moza FF Base to upgrade with and also been thinking about throttle too. I have all Virpil Controls currently and its been a stellar setup. Moza base would get my TM F-16 stick so was entertaining the idea of going back to US style throttle. Are there any out there on the same level as the virpil stuff? Is winwing good stuff or meh? The virpil has a few issues from over the years and just dont want to deal with shipping it for repairs honestly, which is also why it wouldnt be for sale unless someone has the know how to repair the zoom slider. Was looking at the Winwing F15 grips on orion base, or the F18 grips on the orion base, as i fly the F18 ALOT in DCS. Any users with a .02c that could weigh in? Or do i just keep the virpil stuff and get the Moza base to add FF to my flying?
