Would a company ever offer you more than the salary you asked for?

So let's say I go through the whole interview process, and when they ask about salary, I say something like $70k and I end up getting the job.

Is there any chance they'd come back and offer me, say, $75k instead? Like, because their budget for the role is higher or they really liked me?

Just wondering if that's something that actually happens in real life, or if companies pretty much always stick to whatever number you gave them.
