What Yacht PMS software do you use?
Former ETO here. Spent years dealing with this problem onboard before building something to fix it.
The short answer is: most crews end up on IDEA or Seahub for the PMS side. Both work. Both have frustrations. IDEA is the industry standard but the database setup takes weeks and it still doesn't solve the handover problem when crew rotate. Seahub is cleaner but locked into a one-size-fits-all form structure.
The gap I kept running into was knowledge continuity. You complete a work order in your PMS, but the context (why you did it that way, what you tried first, what the previous engineer told you about that system) lives in someone's head or a WhatsApp group. When they leave, it leaves with them.
I've been building something that sits alongside whatever PMS you already run and handles the operational layer above it: NLP search across everything onboard, auto-generated handovers at rotation, and a signed audit trail. Still early; running a pilot cohort now and looking for working vessels to pressure-test it. Happy to share more if anyone's interested, but genuinely curious what setups other people are running and where the pain is worst.
