*CLARIFICATIONS*
The animatronics in my AU possess highly advanced AI and self-awareness (similar to that seen in the Glamroks animatronics from the game, but better), which gives them the ability to form complex and close bonds with one another without the need for a soul’s intervention.
Animatronics and souls are two separate entities. If a soul comes to possess an animatronic, the animatronic will still retain its autonomy and personality, though it will be influenced by the soul. The soul and the AI can coexist in a single body without complications; however, since the soul is by far a much more powerful entity, it is capable of overpowering the AI with ease and taking absolute control of the animatronic whenever it chooses.
Regarding the image, both the animatronic and the respective soul possessing it (in this case) formed a strong, emotional “bond” with their respective partners. Each shows their affection and appreciation for the other in their own way. (There is no attraction or sexual activity between any of them. The animatronics were not designed to engage in that kind of activity (although they might have a fleeting thought about it from time to time, but nothing more), and the souls because they all lost their lives while still minors.
