last week a pretty big branch fell from their tree and landed right on my fence. didn't break it completely but there's definitely damage and I'm annoyed lol the tree is clearly on their side of the property line but the branches hang way over into ours. this has been happening for years apparently (previous owner mentioned it casually when we were buying and I didn't think much of it at the time)

do I have any actual recourse here or is this just a welcome to homeownership, deal with it situation? I don't want to start anything with the neighbor but also don't want to just eat the repair cost
