[3/6 Dynamite] Bold prediction/wish that I don't really think is that bold

Lio Rush is joining the Conglomeration.

Well, kind of. He'll never officially ask to Conglomerate (though the more that I think of it, the less outlandish Blackheart saying "Conglomerate" over and over becomes) but he'll keep hanging around them and at some point Roddy or Kyle is going to reason that keeping him in their field of vision is better than not knowing where he is.

Then they'll start keeping him around and eventually, maybe a month from now, OC and Lio are gonna win a tag on Collision. Cute weekly hilarity and unexpectedly creative tag team offense.

I mean hey, if the Conglomeration's theme is a bunch of misfits who don't fit anywhere else having each other's back... who's a bigger misfit right now than the guy spilling black liquid out his mouth on a weekly basis? Plus, he's already transitioned to getting incredible face reactions...

[24/5 Double Or Nothing] The coolest man in the whole god damn world

Whether it's him stoically watching Darby get spun out on the entrance ramp with his hands in his pockets, or landing a House Call to Darby flying off the steps, or landing a perfect House Call against a Christian Cage Spear, or him 1v5ing the entire Elite at Blood and Guts... I could go on.

And now this. Walks off a definitive win over the ROH World Champion, raps his own verse perfectly, turns around and leaves.

No one in the world is cooler than Swerve.

[24/5 Double Or Nothing] All-time great counter

For my money, in a vacuum, the Lethal Injection into Roshambo counter five years ago on Rampage was better due to the smoothness and suddenness of it.

But given the occasion, the wrestlers involved, how you just have enough time to realize that it's happening, Ex's little "Twenty...", and how a certain Bandido win turned into a certain Swerve win in the blink of an eye, it is right up there.

I haven't even seen the last two matches of the night and I already think I've gotten more phenomenal wrestling than I deserve.

[20/5 Dynamite/Collision] IMO underrated spot in a brutal match

https://reddit.com/link/1tlg3qt/video/nhvm74ryyv2h1/player

For some "hardcore" matches, the wrestlers take bumps which, while brutal and painful, are bumps where there are clear ways for them to lessen the impact. Like getting thrown off heights but having tables to break the fall.

This match was full of brutal bumps where there was absolutely no way to make them less brutal. Like this. What do you even do if you're Briscoe? How do you defend yourself when your head is already caught in the chair that's being dashed into the post?

Reminds me of that sneaky good Thunder Rosa vs Deonna Purazzo Collision match at the E-Sports Stadium when Thunder just dropkicked a chair which was already on Deonna's face.

Good god what a wild match this was.

[16/5 Collision] Familiarity breeds contempt

https://reddit.com/link/1tlftx6/video/xc7q79e1xv2h1/player

Just proof of how much attention AEW and the wrestlers pay to detail. The production team made a point of saying that Joe and Lethal go way, way back, and even if they weren't necessarily rivals, they were in the same place so often for so long that they probably know each other's moves inside out.

And the lead-up to the finishing sequence showed that. It's not just a sequence of counters; it's a sequence of in-character counters where they're reversing the other guy's signature shit into their own signature shit. A sign of familiarity, and contempt.

Sleeper hit, this match.

I really like how Don hyped up BK in this match. A street fighter. Someone who had the grit and the toughness that people who grew up like Okada could just never have.

And that knee strike was, I think, perfect. So sudden. You don't even realize that the opportunity is there until Keith has already taken it. An opening that only a street fighter would see.

Great little sequence in a great match.
