Valve needs to do something to make the Steam Machine attractive

Due to recent news regarding the Steam Deck, it's becoming increasingly clear that the Steam Machine will be more expensive than many people are willing to pay. This has made me think that it's certainly strange for Valve to release a more expensive product than intended and not do anything to make it more appealing.

I'm considering several possibilities:

1 - The bundle with the controller will be substantially cheaper (the bundle isn't confirmed, but it's clear there will be one).

2 - A selection of games will be included with the Steam Machine to demonstrate its capabilities and better justify its price.

The second option seems more likely to me, since offering hardware at a lower market price might lead many people who won't use the Steam Machine for gaming to take advantage of the situation and buy it, but they wouldn't generate game purchases. Including games with the Machine avoids this and provides added value for those who will use it as Valve intended.

I can't think of any other ways to generate added value in the Machine without it being too expensive for Valve to justify, but I'd like to hear if you have any other ideas or hopes. (Triple bundle machine + frame + controller?)
