6-Year-Old Jack Russell Refuses Dog Food and Only Wants Human Food :(

Hi!

I'm looking for advice for my mom's dog, Cash. He's a 15-pound Jack Russell Terrier, born in 2020, and he has become an extremely picky eater.

Cash was introduced to many human foods when he was younger, and over time, he has developed a strong preference for them. He will happily eat things like chicken, steak, and other human foods, but he regularly turns his nose up at dog food.

My mom has tried

- premium kibble brand

- Premium Wet dog food

- Farmers Dog

- Mixing dog food with toppers (like cooked chicken or beef)

If dog food is mixed with human food, he'll often eat around the dog food. He also tends to lose interest in foods after eating them for a while. For example, he initially liked Farmer's Dog but eventually stopped wanting it, despite the variety.

He is active, maintains a healthy weight, and has been evaluated by a veterinarian. He does have a history of seizures, so we'd like to make sure he's getting a balanced diet.

Does any one have any suggestions for nutritionally complete fresh-food diets?

Or advice from anyone who has dealt with a similarly picky dog?

Please be kind—my mom loves this dog dearly and is trying to do what's best for him. We're just looking for ideas that may have worked for others.

Thanks!!
