What do you think my chances are?

33M, two kids. Both are full‑time in nursery right now, with the eldest starting school this September. I’m aiming for FIRE at 48, but I’d really appreciate some outside perspective on whether that’s realistic.

Income & pension

Salary: £80k + bonus (usually 5–10%)

Pension: I contribute 18%, employer adds 10%

Current pension pot: £106k

Mortgage: £652/month on a 2.2% fix until July 2027, rising to £750 after

Investments

£1,000/month into a S&S ISA

ISA currently at £26k

Once the eldest finishes nursery, I’ll add another £500/month

When the youngest finishes in 2 years, I plan to max out contributions.

Spending

Our non‑nursery, non‑ISA spending is about £2,000/month and we live pretty comfortably at that level.

Goal is to retire at 48

Wondering if this trajectory is enough, or if I’m being overly optimistic?
