I've never published my stories anywhere, I just write for fun in my own language.
None of my friends write but some of them do read fanfiction. We recently watched something together and quickly got into a new fandom, and it was great! Even if I tend to hyperfixate on things a lot more than they do, I love fandom talking with my irl friends.
So I started writing this little something on this new fandom, and I have to admit I'm not really secretive about it, not with my closest friends. I started writing it more as a joke than anything else(I basically wrote a slowburn between two characters from the show we watched set in the city we all live in), but it grew on me and felt like sharing the plot with them.
Long story short they got me to send the script, saying they would read and claiming they were interested. Which would have been fine if they were not.
I sent them the script like a month ago, asked them a couple of times if they read it and none of them did. I'm not mad at them because I can't force you to read something you don't care about, but it hurt me a little because why did they have to act all interested and ask me multiples times to share the story with them if they were not going to read it? They didn't even take the time to read the first chapter(2k words max?)
Did this ever happen to any of you? Should I just delete the script I sent them and keep minding my own business like I always did? Am I acting childish?
