Chronic Tinnitus got worse after hitting my head 2 days ago
Hey guys, I was born with chronic tinnitus, and it recently got much worse after hitting my head really hard 2 days ago after falling down the stairs in my house and hitting my head on the railing. I went to the ER and they said I had no signs of a concussion. They checked my ears and did a cat scan, and nothing was abnormal. My ears have a pins and needles aching sensation, and thus far I’ve had a residual migraine that comes and go, but doesn’t affect the ringing. I’ve done countless searches online, I’ve looked up everything from hearing loss, stimulant induced tinnitus, migraines, and TMJ related to my jaw. I’ve recently quit THC use, and I do have an underbite and have a minor history of jaw pain but it hasn’t happened in years. I do have severe anxiety and OCD, so the constant, high pitched ringing is driving me insane. The only appointment available with my primary care physician is on May 19th, and I don’t want it to continue to damage my already delicate mental health. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t even focus, despite being able to hear clearly. I’m an avid music listener, and I listen to music constantly, but I’ve reduced the volume and frequency I do listen my favorite artists for sometime now. I’m only 21, and I don’t want to live with the possibility that I’ll have to get a hearing aid this early on in life, and I want to be able to recover. I’ve only been left with more questions than answers, so I’d really appreciate y’alls response.
