Is Poland a capitalism success story?
I've been going through some videos online talking about how the fall of the USSR was a terrible disaster not just for the Soviet Republics but for the world in general. And in almost all of them there are those who mention something like "What about Poland? It's better now than it ever was under communism."
They'll use EuroStat data to claim it's the wealthiest nation in the EU and how embracing capitalism and remaining conservative gave them more success than socialism ever could've. Some ultra-nationalists (I've met one in real life) also say how Poland was better under fascism than socialism.
All of this is supposed to debunk the claim that socialism is better than capitalism. What do you think?
