Probably wasn’t meant to forshadow the reveal in later book about the source of their and jun/ko’s power but reading back on it does make me wonder if that was originally a hint about it 🤔. Obviously the player character doesn’t remember(or at least chooses not to remember). The author could’ve added it in there as a little joke for themselves or as the player characters little guilt in the back of their head coming forward. Probably a coincidence but something to think about.
