I wish the timeout time was longer. Does anyone know how to stay logged in?

It’s such a small thing, but it’s a hassle that chips away at me when working split screen with essays and other supporting docs.

I understand this is probably an essential security thing. I have never wished so much for a “keep me logged in” feature.

Great study spaces/ libraries at PA schools?

Can anyone recommend the overall study areas/libraries etcetera at certain PA schools? Surprisingly hard to get a sense from school websites for many schools.

I love big windows, and most importantly *quiet* campus/library zones.

Currently applying while taking classes, so it’s something I have been thinking of often. I’m someone who prefers to get out of my house for better productivity.

I know it’s a weird thing to ask, but thanks to anyone who has recs for their PA school or partner/friends PA school study accommodations! Also, if your PA school has HORRID options or just absolutely no windows or something I guess I’d like to know that too

If there’s a better place to ask let me know!

Any experienced radiology techs going PA route?

As the title says, are there any Rad techs (CT, Xray, MRI, Nuc Med, ultrasound etc) making the jump to try to go PA?

Are you planning on maintaining your license in your field even if you get into PA school? How about after? Have you felt any hesitation due to job market changes for PAs in the last few years? How are you feeling about the financial investment? Is anyone making the leap to PA despite facing either similar equivalent pay or even a potential pay cut as a new grad?

I’m fully committed to going to PA school, recently submitted CASPA applications to a few schools as 1st time applicant. just wanted to see if anyone wanted to discuss this :) and good luck to everyone who has applied this cycle!!

“Dedicated to service” interpretation

Supplemental question asks:

Our program strives to develop future PAs, who are leaders in their communities and dedicated to Service.* Describe a time in which you demonstrated leadership and initiative or a commitment to Service recognizing that these can take many forms. What did you learn from this experience and how will it influence you as a future student and or practicing PA? “*

This sounds awful… but I don’t have significant volunteer (~50 hrs) or leadership experience (~200 hrs split across activities), however I have significant PCE (9k+) as a radiology technologist.

I want to apply to this program but truly don’t know how to answer this. Does anyone have an idea of if I am allowed to discuss my work for this? Or what dedication to service means here? I’m failing to see anything but my lack of significant volunteering or like mission trips etc. help!

Home Desk sadness

Does anyone else here absolutely loathe studying at a home desk even if you have a decent one? I would rather sit or lay on a couch or bed or the floor at home to study.

I feel like this is problematic- mostly because I genuinely want to be a desk-studier. It seems more productive. Also the way I sit/ lay while studying (cross legged sitting and on my elbows laying) makes my knees/ shoulders hurt.

I know this is probably a silly complaint, but I’m applying to a very study-intensive grad school program and need to figure this out for after undergrad is done.

Any tips? Anyone else have this issue?

CASPA is hard

I’m not sure if anyone else is feeling this, but if so, hang in there.

CASPA has me feeling like my brain is scrambled eggs. It’s kind of kicking my butt. I’m overthinking every little thing.

I am so impressed by everyone tackling the app process with grace/ poise/ sanity intact. If anyone has tips on moving past overthinking, I’m all ears.

Otherwise, I just came here to maybe leave this mini vent in hopefully good company.

April’s facial expressions bring me joy- I hope she never gets botox

I’m new here! Love Greys 😍 recently have been noticing and laughing about April Kepner’s facial expressions. Maybe an unpopular opinion (?) but I love how big her personality is and crazy facial expressions. Not sure if anyone else loves it or hates it. Some days she’s my spirit animal.

*edit! Perhaps she has had botox! But I hope she does not get more if so haha

This scene was from her wedding that Jackson interrupted

As the title states- looking for success stories or just general info on tagged RBC scans for upper bleeds.

Recently did a scan looking for upper GI bleed. I was very (possibly naively) hopeful to locate it because of apparently persistent and significant blood loss. But we didn’t see the bleed per confirmation by radiologist.

Obviously, the care team tried all other methods of locating it first without success before I scanned the patient. The spleen and liver uptake are just so intense despite doing everything possible to minimize damage to the RBCs and avoid excess spleen uptake. Could the bleed have been essentially hiding within the intense uptake of the liver/spleen in that upper GI zone? That’s what I wonder and worry and feel like this was potentially such a long shot.

Just curious if anyone here has experience with the upper bleeds and any insights/tips/reports of success because this was the 1st time in 9 yrs I have done a GI bleed for suspected upper bleed rather than a lower. Thanks so much.
