Is a Mini PC the best choice for a home media centre?

I run Kodi to keep all my movies and shows in order and to keep track of what episodes we have already watched etc etc

Up until now I've just been using it on my Xbox series X which has been fine but I've just moved into a little off-grid cabin in the middle of nowhere and power is now an issue

Everything we have is 12v except the Xbox and my gaming laptop which I need to run an inverter for .

The gaming laptop is fine, if I'm sitting down to game and the batteries are low I'll just put the generator on for awhile ...... It is what it is but the Xbox is just a pain .

We run it alot , I'm terrible for just having shows on in the background while I do things / an episode will finish and I'll just leave it sitting there till the silence sends me crazy enough to put the next episode on, I'm a creature of habit and I like my comfort shows just there always on in the background 🤣

Ive been looking at mini PC's cause of the low power draw and being able to run it without an inverter.

I'm wondering if I'm on the right track and this would be the best way to attack it or if there's other options I haven't thought about .

If I am on the right track what mini PC would everyone recommend for the job ?

It would purely be a media centre running Kodi and streaming sites Netflix ,prime etc and used to download torrents .

I have the gaming laptop for everything else but she chewwwws the power so that's always a planned event haha

Any help would would be greatly appreciated I'm tech savvy to a point but still got that caveman brain running the show .
