we still have a couple of M630 blades from an earlier virtualization, which I thought about using for a test infrastructure for a potential/probable future Proxmox migration (still have ~2 years of VMware service contract left, but with the expected price increase, no way in h*ll we'll pay for that).
Anyway, seeing that e.g. VMWare doesn't support the VRTX platform beyond 7.03 (due to Dell not providing SPERC drivers for ESXi8), I was wondering if anybody has information on whether current Proxmox/Linux supports that integrated SPERC controller? I only found some older posts where it sounded like it was supported, though I couldn't find anything more current than 3-5 years ago ...

Edit: we do not have the vrtx chassis, just the original E1000 with external EMC storage, which are "too big" for just a test environment... I was thinking about either swapping our old parts for it or buying a vrtx....

Edit2: According to Dell, different Linux version are officially supported: https://www.dell.com/support/home/de-de/drivers/supportedos/poweredge-vrtx e.g. RHEL, SLES & Ubuntu 12 ...

Demnächst bekomme ich meinen PV-Speicher (AC-gekoppelt), bei dem auch zusätzlich ein SmartMeter dabei ist (wobei rein theoretisch auch der vorhandene Shelly 3EM unterstütz sein sollte). Da für den Speicher eh eine Wieland-Dose angebracht werden sollen, und ich von 2 Zählern auf §14a umbauen lassen will, hab ich beim Elektriker ein Angebot für die Arbeiten angefragt. Da kam jetzt was, lt. dem für den SmartMeter (Anschaltung mit Meßklemmen) zusätzlich drei 10A-Automaten verbaut werden sollen.
Was für einen Sinn hat das? Von den Kosten vernachlässigbar, aber Platz könnte knapp werden ... Ja, ich weiß daß der SmartMeter ja an den drei Phasen zusätzlich angeklemmt wird, und daß man mit separaten Automaten auch mal nur den SmartMeter neu start kann, falls der mal abstürzt, aber darüber hinaus ist das doch nicht wirklich notwendig, oder???

Contrary to what some FTNT folks told us many months ago, it seems like the VPN-Only client is really gone ... 8.0.0 came out yesterday, and no VPN-only archive available (haven't tried installing it yet, though)

What viable alternatives are there for Windows & Mac instead? I have configs for Linux & StrongSWAN to connect with IPSEC, though of course MFA is not included there ...
