Neutering +/- gastropexy with move soon to come

As it stands:
Scheduled for neutering. Was considering getting gastropexy done at the same time. But they’re training on a new laparoscopic technique under another vet with experience on the day the neuter is scheduled.
It’s free for that since they’re training but I’d rather pay and have them do it the way they are comfortable with.
I have three days off following the procedure to be with him while he heals then we move 7hrs away in a couple weeks.
I was considering canceling the entire thing and finding a new vet quick and have it done in the month span I’ll have off at the new location. I’ll be nearby the vet who does it for at least few years and be able to have all procedures done with one anesthetic.
What’s everyone’s opinion? Has anyone had experience or horror stories about their Bernedoodle having a volvulus? Complications with tacking / neutering?
