Know nothing about LA, including rent, traffic, COL. Moving in a few weeks for residency at UCLA (mostly Ronald Reagan). Need a 1-bedroom.

Which neighborhoods, within ~15 minutes of ronald reagan, could I reasonably afford? What max rent would you recommend, assuming no other major bills? Any tips on the area?

I like to go out to bars and restaurants often. I don’t care for the beach at all or being close to it (from florida). Please help :(
