Weighted Dip Form
Hi all,
Aware this is "bodyweight" fitness but I'm hoping theres some pros in here who can give me a hand.
I've just started doing weighted dips (this is my second sesh) after getting bored of bench and I've noticed that I get sternum pain during the exercise. I was going to try to train this for strength (4-5 rep range sets like I do on weighted pull ups), but at that weight it causes me some big sternum pain.
A couple of things I think could be the cause:
- I've jumped to a decent weight without letting my sternum adjust
- I'm going too deep or getting the lean wrong
- Getting too much momentum on the eccentric
But honestly I'm just not sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'd like to be able to get good at this without feeling like I've got a xenomorph in me
Cheers
(Sorry for it just being a link I can't figure out adding media for the life of me)
