Leatherman warranty replacement strict rules

Quick one here, my beloved companion of 10 years, my squirt PS4, gave up the ghost. Pliers cracked. Sent them in to warranty and I got a Micra back. The Micra had a damaged exterior, rolled knife edge, and rust/tarnish on the nail file out of the box. The customer service rep repeated that these weren’t defects, but “alleged” defects (her words.) Really made me feel like they were insinuating it was BS that the tool was actually damaged.

After sending some pics in, they agreed it wasn’t up to par and would replace it. I asked if it was possible to replace with a gift card or tool of equal value that had pliers since that’s what I liked about the PS4, which she said I could have a wingman, nothing else.
I asked abound the Bond, which is the same price, and I got a flat no.

I’m glad I got such a great life out of the PS4, but disappointed there isn’t an actual comparable tool and there’s no flexibility on warranty. Glad to get a tool more useful to me than the Micra though. Anybody else have similar experiences with Leatherman warranty?

RIP Squirt PS4

Anybody recommend a keychain tool with pliers as good as the PS4?
