Hey guys - I wanted to leave one final update before finishing the model.
I appreciate I’ve probably gone overboard with the updates and I do feel bad, a couple mentioned it was has been overbearing. I removed all of the previous updates as not to bloat the sub Reddit.
Not at all was my intention to spam, I just wanted to see how opinions grew as the model progressed, feel a little reluctant to share even now, but here goes anyway.
I wouldn’t ever want to hog space or people’s time and I try as much as possible to be an active member of the sub and seeing everyone else’s work
I think in future I’ll try to be more reflective and sensitive to this space ❤️‍🩹

Heavily stylised, almost 80’s synthwave transformer chrome. Fully aware this isn’t realistic at all, but I’ve been enjoying it. I’ve learnt so much about lighting with this project

Little update on how the ‘ chrome ‘ farsight is going , I think the head , sword , plates and shield will be the last pieces if there’s anything left to sell the look. Added more sharp white highlights and more light grey cloud like glazes around too

EDIT: THE SHOULDER RINGS ARE SO HORRIBLE

So, I really enjoyed the feedback I received. A lot of the feedback was ‘ unrecoverable ‘ - I’ve already drawn the horizon, I’ve already chosen deliberate and exaggerated pink sand reflections.

But what I have done is make the sky less saturated and more ‘ whispery’. I thjnk it’s starting to sell as some kind of reflecting object - but I wanted to see first what it would look like with some blue highlights on top. I think it’s slowly shaping , and it’s not perfect at all. You do have to ‘ suspend your disbelief ‘ and _want to believe it’s chrome_. I’m going to save the spam and wait until the model is finished before a final update - but I think the arms, fins and backpack stuff is going to be the last push to scream at the viewer ‘ this is chrome ‘

I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions for a neutral sword, or the emblems scattered around the model. I genuinely have no idea what to do with them

So I know there’s a lot of people who can’t see it - and I probably have a fair dose of wishful thinking ( my best friend said it reminds him of Fanta fruit blast , and another said ‘ kinda ‘ when prompted “it looks like chrome, right.. right?? “
I’m still going strong with the delusions - I think come end of the model maybe, just maybe - it will make sense
