Planning a small Kodaikanal trip from Bangalore (26-28 June)

Heyy!!

This is Gayatri (25f). I’ve been solo travelling for almost 5 years now and have volunteered in multiple hostels and locations.

Last month I was in Kodaikanal for a month volunteering at a hostel. I was handling their social media, helping with guests and taking people for nearby treks almost everyday.

At one point I came across a group of around 20 strangers who had come to travel Kodai and I randomly ended up showing them around for a few days. It was honestly a lot of fun.

So I’m thinking of taking a small group from Bangalore to Kodaikanal from 26-28 June (2N/3D). We’ll be staying at the same hostel where I volunteered (stay and food are arranged through the hostel).

One thing I wanted to mention is that Kodai doesn’t really have autos or scooty rentals, so travelling solo can sometimes become a bit expensive. I still enjoy solo travel a lot and do it all the time, but travelling with a group of strangers can be fun in a different way. You meet new people, explore together and still have enough freedom to do your own thing.
This trip is being done along with Circle One Hostel, where I volunteered last month.

I’m also thinking of doing a Wayanad trip sometime next month. I’ve spent a few months there as well (volunteering, hosting groups and taking people around), so it’s a place I know pretty well and keep going back to.

Nothing is planned for Wayanad yet. I’d rather find people first, make a group, get to know each other a little and then plan something together.

I travel quite often anyway, so this is something I’d like to keep doing with small groups to places I’ve already spent time in and genuinely enjoy.

If Kodaikanal this month or Wayanad next month sounds interesting, feel free to DM me :)

EDIT: The response has honestly been much better than I expected. A few people have already confirmed for the trip, and I’m currently speaking with everyone else who reached out.

At the moment, I’m still looking for a few more girls who’d be interested in joining.

If you’ve been thinking about it, feel free to DM me and I’ll share all the details 😊
