Hit a wall with the last 14lbs. Doctor prescribed Phentermine, but the mood swings are brutal. Is it worth it?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been on a long weight loss journey for about 3 years now. I'm a 28F, 5'4", with a SW of 213 lbs and a CW of 149 lbs. My GW is 135 lbs.

Over these 3 years, it hasn't been a straight line. I’ve had seasons where I was incredibly consistent, and others where life got in the way and it was hard to get back on track. Losing these last 14 pounds has been an absolute mental battle, mostly because I’m just hit with major diet fatigue. I'm tired of doing what I know I need to do.
My entire progress so far has been strictly through CICO (counting calories) and exercise. Right now, I’m eating around 1,500 calories, getting 10k steps almost daily, and lifting weights 4x a week.

Here is my current dilemma: About a month ago, I was talking to my endocrinologist about how hard it’s been to maintain focus and consistency for this final stretch. She suggested trying Phentermine to give me that last push. Following her instructions, I’ve been taking half the dose for the first month before moving up to the full dose.
The issue is, I’m already a bit temperamental, and this medication has completely wrecked my mood. It’s not even about anxiety, it's just pure irritability. I feel extremely intolerant of everything, and I’ve been having moments where I feel really sad out of nowhere. The mood swings are intense.

Plus, I haven't even started the full dose yet, and I already feel like the initial energy boost and appetite suppression from the first few days have worn off. Since I'm still sticking to my deficit and workout routine, I can’t really say the pill is making a massive difference right now.

Has anyone else experienced these kinds of emotional side effects with Phentermine? Are they worth pushing through for the "last few pounds," or am I better off raw-dogging the rest of my journey without it? Would love to hear your experiences!
