Built a free site that pulls Australian visa info from the official sources into one place - looking for feedback
G’day
In short: I automated a pipeline where I pull every piece of information for the most common visas pathways/streams including visa fees, processing times, occupations cutoff points (since 2022), skill assessment bodies straight from the official websites all in one place. Some refreshed daily, some weekly and some quarterly.
The long story.
I went through the complex and confusing Australian immigration system like many people on here. It was a long and slow process. So many boxes to tick and requirements to meet that’s scattered everywhere.
I’m a web developer so I built gdaymayte.com.au as a side project.
- I mapped how most common 17 visas connect, so you can see where each one leads.
- I built 189 invitation cutoffs by occupation, every round since 2022 for 200+ occupations.
- Skills assessment finder by occupation/ANZSCO to find the relevant authority body, fees, processing times across 10 authorities.
- I used LLMs to strictly summarise the content and organise the information in a neat way without affecting information integrity.
I now have this knowledge base from many official websites turned into a simplified guide.
The site is not to be used as an alternative to official sources but alongside them.
I’m keen to hear your feedback. What's wrong, what's missing, what would actually help.
Roast it.
