Attaching a rope to a closed loop without using either end of the rope?

Hey everyone,

I’m stuck on a knot-tying puzzle and could use some help. A video or GIF would be amazing if you know of one.

I’m trying to attach a rope to an object without using either end of the rope. The object is a closed loop (specifically, the carry handle on an inflatable kayak).

Imagine I have a 100 m anchor line. One end is attached to the anchor, and the other end is somewhere else in the kayak, so I only have access to the middle section of the rope. I want to secure that middle section to the kayak’s handle.

Every tutorial I find online shows knots being tied with the working/running end of the rope, which I don’t have access to in this situation.

Is there a knot or hitch specifically designed for attaching the middle of a rope to a fixed loop or handle? What would be the standard boating/kayaking solution for this?
