I’m a first time reader of SBR and I just finished reading volume 6 of the english Steel Ball Run and I’m confused by the ending. Sure, we get an introduction to Tubular Bells and the further investigation by the president into Lucy being the traitor. But what the hell does the ending of Tubular chapter 1 even mean? “The first lady likes girls”? What relevance does that have to the story? I’ve been told that apparently it does matter later on but I’m still very confused.
