Part-time bookkeeping/admin or job recommendations

Hey everyone,

I’m a 4th year SFU student currently taking summer courses and looking for part-time work for the next 6 months or so until I graduate. I’m mainly looking for bookkeeping, accounting admin, AP/AR, payroll where my experience could be useful.

A bit about me: I have experience working in tax at Deloitte, where I worked on corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns, along with tax audits, bookkeeping, and accounting-related work. I also ran my own pressure washing business for about 5 years, so I’m used to handling customers, organizing jobs, keeping records, doing my own books, AP/AR, taxes, and staying on top of day-to-day operations.

I’m comfortable with QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and general bookkeeping/accounting tasks. I’m a quick learner, organized, and I don’t mind wearing multiple hats if the team needs help.

If anyone knows of any part-time bookkeeping/admin roles, finance roles, small businesses that need help, or connections where my background could be a good fit, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Just went to my advisor last Thursday and found that its apparently easier to get a better grade in Fall/Spring for Upper Level Accounting courses like BUS 426.

Apparently only smart students take classes like these in summer so the curve is harder. Looking at my low GPA, my advisor recommended I wait for Fall/Spring. So I am wondering if I should take her advice and drop the course or stick it out? Professor is Michael Favere Marchesi, I hope he is good.
