Buying 64GB 5200 SODIMM memory vs. keeping 32GB
I'm in the process of gathering components for a mini-Itx build.
What I have so far.
Owned from other system:
- 2TB M.2 nvme
- 32GB (2x16) 4800 SO-DIMM
Ordered:
- Minisforum BD895I SE motherboard with included AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX - 439 eu
- Inno3D Nvidia RTX 5060 TI Twin X2 16GB - 529 eu
- ATX PSU Corsair RM750e 750 watt - 85 eu
- Jonsbo Z20 case - 88 eu
- 1 x Arctic P12 Max 120mm fan (for cpu cooling) - 15 eu
- 1 x Corsair RS120 PWM 120mm fan (back of case) - 6 eu
- 4 x Corsair RS140 PWM 140mm fans (top and bottom of case) - 27 eu
A local online shop now has 64GB SO-DIMM (2 x 32) 5200 (max what motherboard can do) for sale at 499 eu
My question: is it worth buying this at this moment, and what can I unlock regarding models?
I want to use it like I use Claude Code now. Agentic style within VS Code through opencode/copilot chat/other alternatives.
Thanks for any input.
