Is it normal for the Grab drivers to be asking for a tip? Every time they deliver? This never happened when we were in Thailand or Malaysia… so I’m just wondering if this is something that is normal?

Look, I get that it’s a low paying job and that people are just trying to make money for their needs when they’re working for a Grab … but to message EVERY SINGLE TIME asking for a bigger tip or more money is getting exhausting. The most annoying part is… we do tip every time and yet we feel more and more frustrated by these constant messages that say things similar to “you ordered a lot, I need you to tip me at least 50,000” or “your order is far away, you will tip me extra, 20,000 is good” … it’s not even about the amount… I know it’s only $1-$3… but the money isn’t the point, it’s the messages. I’ve worked some really low paying jobs back (cleaning, gas station attendant, etc) in Canada and would have never expected a customer to pay more because of the job I was working 🥴 just gives me the ick to be honest…
