Am I crazy?
I started HRT in December of 2025 after years of trying to get a doctor to help me with my menopause issues. I have been in full meno for about 3 years and I am 54. At first, I felt amazing! I mean, I would literally sit and cry tears of happiness because I had been a mess for so long and suddenly it was all gone and I felt “normal” again. Everything was great for about a month. And then it seemed like I was back to pre-HRT again, minus the hot flashes and muscle aches. My fatigue came back with a vengeance, and I felt so depressed because I had been so happy about feeling great.
I was taking the .05 patch, vaginal tablets for atrophy/GSM and 100 mg progesterone.
Then the patch shortage began so I asked my doctor to put me on the gel and increase the dose. I was excited because people said they felt even better on the gel.
If anything, I feel even worse!
Has anyone who used the patches and the gel felt that the gel was not as good? I just read so many stories about people having miraculous results with the gel and I am so sad that I didn’t!
I also just learned that HRT can affect your thyroid medication and I take levothyroxine for Hashimoto thyroiditis. Has anyone experienced that?
I want to switch back to the patch but I can’t find it anywhere which is so frustrating!
