Quick question about imitation crab and cooking...

So I purchased some imitation crab the other day because I wanted to make something with it and I needed a little treat. I was thinking of making one of those 'viral' dishes you see on the internet that's one dish - specifically a sort of salmon bake. Now, I know imitation crab is essentially already cooked and more of a warm through then serve food item - but could I put it in to cook with the salmon and everything else, do you think? Or is the idea a bad one and I should make something else with the crab?

I bow to this sub's expertise.
