Scary situation

So I had a laproscopic hysto on the 13. I was healing well and thought that was the end.

Then this past Wed the 20th, I went to poop, strained slightly and started bleeding severely. Like I soaked three pads in less than an hour. I told my parents immediately (I live at home) and we went to the closest ER for help. Getting into a patient room took forever which is not great but the medical team took it very seriously and ran blood tests a pelvic exam and a CT scan to see if they could pinpoint /where/ the blood was coming from. While I waited they got me my first blood transfusion. They realized quickly they couldn't treat me and got me ready for transport. The Ambo continued blood but the clotting medicine they gave me something they use for hemorrhages post birth, it slowed all my blood flow down so the paramedic was working harder to get the transfusion to go in. Got to the bigger hospital and they gave a second/third? Unit of blood in the trauma ward. By that point I had lost probably three pints of blood. They took me for a more detailed CT. And they determined I had a pseudo aneurysm in my cuff. The blood vessel was leaking but trying to stop itself. Every time I got still it would try to clot and every time I moved I shifted the blood flow and loosened all the blood again.

So by 330am they had a plan but needed to wait until the next shift came in for back up during the procedure. Then around 6 they took me to IR (some form of internal radiology. They do like brain aneurysms and heart attack operations) they went in thru my Femoral Artery which Scary. And they found the leak and embolised it with body safe foam. And then just to be safe the gyn team did an exam to make sure my internal stitches were still in place.

They gave another unit of blood in recovery and I had to stay a while in the hospital as an admission patient.

I'm fine now (24th) and back home but omg it was so scary. When they tell you there's a risk of bleeding after surgery take it seriously and listen to your body.

I'm doing extra exams with my surgeons to be safe but that was enough for me to never want surgery again
