Hi all, 42F and had about 4 or 5 flares of diverticulitis since being diagnosed about 12 yrs ago. I usually have a small amount of pain and then fast for 40 hrs or so and then it settles. This time that didnt work, and I ended up in the ER at 2am in excruciating pain. The drugs they gave me settled the pain pretty well an I discharged the ne,t afternoon. I guess im wondering if this is the beginning of the march towards surgery or further awful flares? Or not necessarily? My Aunt just had a resection for the same disease and so I feel like the family line has doomed me on this one!
