Saw a Pokémon quiz on Twitter, played it for an hour, then built a whole website
Honestly the whole thing started because I saw this Pokémon puzzle going around on twitter (i will never say X) the one where you only get the types and resistances and you have to guess which Pokémon it is. Played it and wanted more, Couldn't find one, so I started building it. Took longer than I thought (it always does).
It's live now: https://pokequizz.com
It's Free, bilingual French (Nobody's perfect sorry)/English and your scores saved + leaderboards.
Stack for the curious: Vite + React (no router, just pushState kept the bundle around 120kb gzip), Supabase for auth + scoring, Cloudflare Pages for hosting. All Pokémon data from the wonderful PokeAPI.
The leaderboards are fresh, so they look pretty empty for now (only my close friends as beta tester)
Mobile is OK but there is a lot of small formating optimizong
Things I'd love feedback on:
- Anything that feels broken
- Quiz mode ideas
Thank for reading me, trying, and feed back, i did it as a side quest it was refreshing doing other thing than my job, i think i'll continue building free community stuff
